Spent the evening rearranging my desk instead of working at it. No regrets. A space you want to sit in does half the work of showing up.
It’s funny how a lamp in the right corner can change how a whole hour feels. The same chair, the same screen, the same problem — but the room around it agrees with you now, and you stay a little longer.
I think this is the underrated half of productivity. We talk endlessly about time-blocking and deep work, but rarely about the simple physics of wanting to be there. A room that smells like coffee. A small plant you have to water. A window you like to look out of when you’re stuck.
None of it makes the work easier. It just makes leaving harder.
